Is there anyone out there like me who liked history subjects but could not stay awake while reading about it? The lesson today came about by a road trip to my hometown today. There I bumped into three of my classmates and that reminded me of some of the history classes we endured in high school.
The number of history books that I have listened to in my wheeled classroom dwarfs in comparison to those I read in school ….. only if I had known about this learning process then! I may have not made the top 50% possible, LOL. At that time there were cassette recorders but not in cars, and the only 8 track tapes I ever owned or borrowed were all Rock and Roll.
I have found the best source for these classes is the audio app from my local library. It is developed and offered by RBdigital. Equipped with this app and your library card, you can pick from a selection that will out do Mrs. Ensminger any day...not that she was a bad teacher, but the dramatic depictions in most audio history books brings the topics to life. Some of my favorite classes in my University on Wheels include: American Mirror, by Deborah Solomon; Boys Who Rocked the World by Michelle Roehm McCann; and The American Legal Experience by Lawrence Friedman. As you can imagine, there are many more history books on demand or in audio version.
To my classmates today that I saw today in The Station - it was great seeing you and Thanks for reminding me of high school classes.
Until Next Time. - Listen and Learn.
